The Bayou Hills Run, a fundraiser for Creative Learning Academy, began in 1978, when distance running was first hitting its stride as a popular national pastime. The event was a favorite of Pensacola area runners for many years. After a several-year hiatus, the race returned as a CLA fundraiser in 2010 and has grown each year. In 2010, roughly 400 runners participated. By 2013, word of our amazing course had spread and nearly 1,000 runners hit the street for the event. Runners joined us from the across the U.S and even other countries. What began as school fundraiser has become a community event and destination run. In 2018 the Bayou Hills Run 10k course became USTAF Certified, #FL18017TY.
